Overview of the Education program

Education is vital to the future of our communities. The Board of County Commissioners has set aside $10 million in federal CARES Act funding to help educational institutions impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our educational institutions have been crucial to the community’s pandemic response, and this program will reimburse expenses (incurred or anticipated) necessary to provide help to students. Allowable expenses include mortgage or rent, utilities, costs related to nutritional programs, PPE supplies, and technology.

Grants of up to $3 million will be awarded to eligible institutions.

Who should apply?

These grants are for school districts (both public and private), charter schools, and preschools in Montgomery County. If your institution has had additional expenditures in response to COVID-19 and/or anticipates future expenses from the pandemic (between March 1 and Dec. 30, 2020), these grants are for you.

These grants will be available until Nov. 30, 2020 or until funding is depleted.
