Montgomery County is creating a process for small businesses to apply for aid from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. Similar processes for other industries and individuals will be developed after the small business program.
Through the Office of CARES Act, Montgomery County will distribute $40 million to help small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In total, Montgomery County has been allocated $200 million in CARES Act funding to aid local organizations and individuals.
The County will administer the CARES Act funds based on U.S. Treasury Department guidelines and procedures developed by the Office of CARES Act.
